Vietnamese weightlifting is therefore at high risk of being banned from the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games (Japan). As a rule, any country that has committed doping three or more times during the Olympic qualifiers, which started in November 2018, could lose the quota count or be banned from the tournament. . Two other countries involved in teen doping scandals, Thailand and Egypt, have both been banned from the 2021 Olympics.

Currently, Thach Kim Tuan, Hoang Thi Duyen have enough points, while Vuong Thi Huyen still has the opportunity to dispute the 2021 Olympics.
