Robert Streb climbed to the top of the leaderboard with -14, while Camilo Villegas dropped one step to second – point -12 after the second round of RSM Classic on November 20.

At RSM Classic, golfers rotate on Seaside par70 and Plantation par72. The second leg on November 20, Streb hit 63 strokes on the par70 with a clean scoreboard bogey and nine birdies. All round, he averaged 283.5 yards, hit 10 in 14 fairways and went standard green in 17 out of 18 holes.

In the last four years, all the players who hold the top of the 36-hole group have won the competition.

Streb won the RSM Classic in 2014. That was also his only title through 213 PGA Tour events. This year, even though being on the top leaderboard with two strokes, Streb is still reserved. “I don’t want to break my load. In golf there are many unpredictable things,” he said after the second round.

Villegas stood T1 after the opening round in the par70. Next stage on the par72 field, the Colombian player hit 66 strokes, of which five birdies were recorded and the round was closed with eagle, hole 18, par5. At this hole, he kicked the ball hit the streetcar. It bounces a bit further enough for Villegas to use his ninth iron to cross the lake to the green and then finish with a 3.6-meter swing.

Yesterday, hole 11 bogey was Villegas’s only professional negligence since the start of the tournament. This golfer has just had a tragedy of life and career – her less than two-year-old daughter died of cancer in late July and the whole year of 2019 hanged up due to a shoulder injury. Villegas owns four PGA Tour titles, with the most recent victory six years ago.

Behind Villegas at Sea Island this week are Tuesday and Thursday, respectively. Each position consists of two players with a decreasing stroke difference.

In the top 10 leaderboards after 36 holes, Kevin Kisner is the only player to play the second round in the par70. England birdie in the last hole – hole 18 – with a 10.6 meter putt, latches the scoreboard 66 strokes and stands T8 with a score of -8.

The last two rounds will take place at Seaside par70. On this field, Joel Dahmen hit 61 strokes to reach the ceiling for both the day and the start of the tournament. Thanks to that, he jumped 94 steps to T11 at -7.

With the cut-out line of 3, 65 golfers got tickets for the weekend. Among the 91 players who left the game were players like Justin Rose, Luke Donald, Danny Willett, Jason Dufner, KJ Choi, and the Asian duo that just entered the top 10 at last week’s major Masters, Im Sung-jae and CT Pan.
