LPGA Tour 2020 in conclusion

The tournament kicked off on December 17 on the par72 course of the Tiburon Golf Club, with Kim Sei Young being the current champion. Last year, Korean golfer won at -18, earning a million USD.

Normally, the curtain-down event for the top 60 Race to CME Globe scorecards spanned the same season as FedEx Cup at the PGA Tour. But the epidemic left the LPGA Tour to 18 awards, equivalent to 50% of the original schedule.

This season, the “Excellent Golfer” front is led by Inbee Park. In this award, the golfer accumulates points from the beginning of the year, of which the champion gets 30 points, comes in second with 12 points, the third has 9 points and then the points drop steadily to 10th place.

Park is 112 points, Kim Sei Young 106 points, and Danielle Kang is third with 87 points. The difference is quite large, but Kang is still open to the prize, if Park does not enter the top 6, Kim is no better than third in the final Tour Championship.

In normal years Vare Trophy campaigns, golfers must hit at least 70 rounds to compare their achievements. This year, the season is cut short because of the epidemic so the condition is minimal at 48 rounds. Averaging 68,677 strokes per round, Kim is at the top of the nominee list, followed by Brooke Henderson – 69,727, and Park is third with 69,927.
