Over the past five years, American golfer Kevin Kisner has lost all five extra-hole playoffs to determine the title at the PGA Tour.
During that half decade, Kisner won three trophies on the PGA Tour. But he should have had more than that, otherwise he would pity five times because the opponent was too surprised. All five playoff games, Kisner lost to a birdie of his colleagues.
The most recent is a duel between him and Robert Streb at hole 18 after the final round of RSM Classic on November 22. Meanwhile, the two were tied in the first turn. The second turn, Streb birdie gently due to the ball close to the rim after a pitching wedge 158 yards from the green. And Kisner just par.
“I admire Robert. He’s excellent, he’s good against the tide. And I hope the number of individual playoffs in the PGA Tour stops increasing. There are no times to win,” Kisner shared his feelings of defeat.
At the 2017 Zurich Classic teamwork tournament, Kisner and Scott Brown were a couple. In the last round, both score 60-stroke common score and entered the playoff only in hole 18, par5 with Jonas Blixt – Cameron Smith. They got together for the first three turns and had to stop because it was dark. The next morning, Blixt-Smith won with a birdie score.
In 2015, Kisner three times was ungainly in the match.
For the first time, he attended the RBC Heritage and won the first title at the PGA Tour. On closing day, golfer born in 1984 hit 64 sticks. But veteran golfer Jim Furyk is the disruptor because he finished first at the top of the table with -18. Kisner hit after, recording a birdie in hole 18 to level the record of 72 standard holes.
In the match, Kisner again birdie the last hole, Furyk too. About hole 17, par3, Kisner found a birdie, but failed to put 5.1 meters. Furyk wins at this point and gets his first title in 100 appearances.
A few weeks later, Kisner was the candidate again. This time, he competed for The Players Championship – the main event of the PGA Tour in TPC Sawgrass. Towards the end, he had the opportunity to birdie at the same time to the coronation podium, but slipped the ball into the hole. After that, Kisner had to play against Sergio Garcia and Rickie Fowler. They have to go through three holes, from hole 17, par 3 of the infamous oasis and take the total score to determine the final result. Kisner and Fowler with the same score of -1 should continue. Regarding hole 17, Fowler birdie for the third time on the closing day and Kisner only par.
Attending Greenbrier Classic, Kisner played the fourth-hand playoff, including Robert Streb – who won him this year. Meanwhile, Kisner and Streb were eliminated in the first leg because Lee and Hearn were both birdies.
After three missed championships, until November 2015, Kisner could win the PGA Tour for the first time, at RSM Classic with a score of -22 with a six-stroke final lead.
However, Kisner has yet to lose the most playoffs to the PGA Tour because Ben Crenshaw sunbae who lost all eight times is the owner of this record no one wants. Crenshaw was born in 1952, won two majors in 19 titles in the American arena and is a member of the World Golf Fame Temple.
