Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has confirmed that he will fight his third fight with Deontay Wilder in early October 2021 in Las Vegas.

“I want nothing more than to beat Wilder on July 24, but the fight will have to be back. Sure, I’ll be back and stronger than ever. We’ll fight on October 9, and I’ll knock him out,” Fury said.

Wilder’s manager Shelly Finkel later announced: “This is what we want. Wilder only wants what belongs to him. Wilder is ready to defend his title on October 9.”

In the first fight at the end of 2018, the two boxers drew after 12 rounds. In the rematch in February 2020, Fury dominated and won by technical knockout in the seventh round.

According to the original plan, Fury would fight to defend the WBC heavyweight title against Wilder on July 24 in Las Vegas. However, the third fight between the two fighters was postponed due to the Covid-19 outbreak at Fury’s headquarters. Not long after a member of the team contracted Covid-19, the 32-year-old British boxer also received a positive result. Fury got one dose of the vaccine, but didn’t get a second shot.

Last month, Fury and Wilder met at a press conference in Las Vegas. Here, Fury is confident that he will continue to knock out Wilder to protect the WBC belt. The British boxer raised his voice: “I have no personal grudge against Wilder. I am only interested in bloodshed and fighting. I was born for that. If Wilder was in front of me, I would fight him. We have to run away.”

In March, Joshua and Tyson Fury signed a contract to unite all four of the most prestigious heavyweight titles, including the WBA, IBF, WBO and WBC heavyweight titles. But the match was delayed as Fury had to complete his third fight with Deontay Wilder.

Joshua also quickly found a new opponent, when he fought with Oleksandr Usyk in London on September 25 to defend the WBA, WBO, IBF heavyweight titles.
