Wolff is leading this race with a score of -1,105 – 1,105 under par through 38 laps. He is followed by Cameron Smith (points -0.92), Louis Oosthuizen (-0.90). However, Wolff had the upper hand, as only Oosthuizen and him attended Wyndham.
Wolff needed two more rounds to qualify for the prize, while the other two heavyweights passed the minimum requirement.
The RRC hole in the Wyndham Championship is a 545-yard par5 15th hole belonging to the Sedgefield Country Club. It has a water hazard that pulls from the front to the right of the green. The PGA Tour said that at this “stage”, 87% of the golfers participating in the tournament were able to get to the green on the second shot.
Without Smith, Wolff will win RRC if he reaches a total score of -1 on hole 15 over the next two rounds. If even par, he finished -1. Meanwhile, to reach this milestone, Oosthuizen needs two eagles. In contrast, Smith will finish first in RRC, if Wolff +2 goes through two turns of the 15th hole, and Oosthuizen maxes out at -2.
Wolff has been on the PGA Tour since 2019 and won the 3M Open the same year he started playing. The American player born in 1999 surprised the experts with an unorthodox, but effective swing. He bounced a few times as he loaded the swing, lifted his heel first, pointed the clubhead in the air after that, followed the hook line and then came in right in the second half of the swing.
