The ceremony to honor outstanding individuals and organizations contributing to Vietnam’s golf development took place at the Ho Chi Minh City Theater on the evening of January 17.
For the first time, the VGA Awards was deployed, with the combined results from the achievements in the national awards and the Vhandicap handicap system in 2020. 17 legitimate individuals and groups received the award.
In the “Excellent Performance” category, the honored golfers and collectives included Nguyen Dang Minh, Hanako Kawasaki, Tran Lam, 1982 Golf Club and Golf Life Club. In which Dang Minh and Hanako respectively won the National Open Men and Women Amateur Championship. Tran Lam won against young amateurs, while the two collectives won trophies in national clubs.

In the section “Collective Contribution to the Excellent Community”, Hanoi Golf Association received the title of Best Golf Association connecting the community, while Ho Chi Minh City Golf Association ranked first in charity activities.
Yen Dung Resort & Golf Club was elected as “The most challenging course”, Hoiana Shores Golf Club is “The golf course with the most beautiful views”. Meanwhile, the stadium most admired by the community belongs to Tan Son Nhat. The Bluffs yard of the Ho Tram Strip entertainment complex in Ba Ria – Vung Tau was named twice, in the service and maintenance section.
In 2020, Vhandicap recorded a peak of 18 holes at 66 strokes by golfer Nguyen Van Tam at FLC Ha Long, Le Minh Hoan at Sky Lake and Do Anh Duc at Tam Dao.
During the VGA Awards night, the Vietnam Golf Association (VGA) and its partners announced the Young Golf Development Fund. In the short term, the Association commits to deduct 10 billion VND from its own sources to disburse funds for activities within the framework of the fund for two years.
