Tran Tuan Kiet won the seventh leg of the bicycle tournament through Vietnam

Taking advantage of this, other racers attacked and separated the large group, including many famous racers such as Tran Thanh Dien (Ho Chi Minh City Vinama), Nguyen Hoang Giang (Loc Troi An Giang), Nguyen Pham Quoc Khang. After snatching two bonus points along the way (spint), the first group behind the eastern group gradually narrows the distance. When it was about 3 kilometers away from the destination, the team formed a large group, heading towards the destination in Vinh city.

Dong Thap, with two good sprinters Tuan Kiet and Tan Hoai, held Nguyet Minh. They split into two noses, Tuan Kiet went first and Tan Hoai hid behind, causing the hands of HCMC to support hard. When about 200m from the finish line, Tan Hoai sprinted first, forcing Le Nguyet Minh to follow, and it was also an opportunity for Tuan Kiet to press the pedal to rise, winning first place in the first stage of this year’s Television Cup. Nguyet Minh finished second, while Tan Hoai finished top 3. The total time of the leg was 3 hours 15 minutes 19 seconds, the average speed of 43,314 km / h.

“We have an advantage because we have two attacks, so we can win against Nguyet Minh. Thank you for your teamwork,” said Tuan Kiet. “Last year, I won the first four races, so this year, I will try to win more.”

Coming to the second place finish, Nguyet Minh equalized the total time with Nguyen Tan Hoai, but could not compare with the Yellow Shirt of Dong Thap trail because he lost the overall rank. The other ranks are unchanged after seven stages. Ho Chi Minh City New Group team, after this stage, suddenly surpassed the team leader, Vinama Ho Chi Minh City ranked second, Dong Thap dropped to third.

Tomorrow morning, April 13, the team took a free break in Vinh, before entering the eighth team timed race at Cua Lo, Nghe An with a 39-kilometer route.

The HTV 2021 Television Cup competition through Vietnam has a total prize fund of nearly 2 billion VND – the highest in history. 15 domestic teams participate, compete on a total route of 2,450 kilometers through 22 stages. The race departs from Cao Bang on April 6, and then finishes at the Independence Palace, Ho Chi Minh City on April 30.

Due to Covid-19, this year’s HTV Television Cup cannot invite foreign racing teams. But the tournament still has two veterans in Vietnam for a long time, Javier Sarda Perez (HCMC) and Loic Descriac (Dong Nai).
