The legend of De La Hoya is back

The 48-year-old American puncher, in an exchange with rapper Snoop Dogg in Las Vegas, USA on March 26, confirmed he would return to the ring, after many taunts about the possibility of re-export.

But De la Hoya has yet to identify a competitor to match, and it is not clear whether he will “return” with a performance match like Mike Tyson recently, or with a professional match. However, the news of this semi-mid-range legend is still making a stir in the boxing village.

On Channel DAZN Not long ago, De la Hoya announced that he wanted to fight “Lonely and defeated” Floyd Mayweather. And experts also assert that the former American boxer will only return if the opponent is Mayweather.

In 2007, Mayweather and De la Hoya each “high and low” in the competition for the middle-class WBC belt. De la Hoya attacked continuously in the first six innings, but fell short when the opponent countered in the last three innings. Mayweather won that match thanks to the referee’s score after 12 games, and De la Hoya was very angry at the verdict. Oscar De La Hoya was once dubbed the “Golden Boy” after winning the 1992 Olympic Gold medal in Barcelona. De La Hoya was also the first fighter to win the world championship in six different weight classes.

During his career, the American puncher won 39, 30 of which were knock-out, receiving six defeats. De La Hoya retired after losing to Manny Pacquiao in late 2008.
