Jordan Spieth is top of the table after 36 holes with -12 points at the PGA Tour event in California with a prize fund of 7.8 million USD.

Pebble Beach Pro-Am is held on two par72 courts, including Pebble Beach and SpyGlass.

In the second round on February 12, Spieth started from hole 10, hitting 67 strokes at SpyGlass with a scoreboard of six birds and the only bogey in hole 1 – where three shots were lost, though 2.1 meters from the target. The whole leg, the American golfer born in 1993 played an average of 288 yards, hit eight of the 14 fairways and went green according to the standard 13 holes. In the birdies, Spieth once scored by faith in form, once thanks to experience from fellow players and once thanks to god of luck.

At hole 17 par4, 325 yards long on the left folding turn, normally, Spieth chooses the safe way by using a wooden stick to hit the fairway. But he confidently cut the corner with the driver stick, brought the ball to the green, from there tire in 1.5 meters and a putt finished.

Reaching a par3 hole, 203 yards long, Spieth used the 5 iron on the green, but the ball was 13.7 meters from the hole. Meanwhile, fellow Rickie Fowler putt first and misses. Spieth in the next turn, with the same line of the hole but adjusting the force, the ball enters.

Over the past three years, Spieth has often kicked the trunk and then thrown out onto the field line (OB) or plugged into rough grass. Yesterday, he deflected, the ball still beat the tree trunk but returned to the 8th hole fairway.

“I played with the number 3 wooden stick, it was exposed on the outside of the club surface so the ball was out of the woods. Fortunately it was thrown into the fairway. That way I was able to use the 7 iron to aim the right of the flag and bring the ball up close to the hole. “Spieth said about the somewhat lucky ball line. He scored a birdie in hole 8 and kept the last par hole.

After holding his third major – The Open Championship 2017, Spieth dropped to form and has over three years without a title. Before that, he won two major, eight championships PGA Tour and 26 weeks to hold world number one (OWGR).

“I am happy with my current performance. If compared to last week, there is a bit more,” Spieth said. Last week, Spieth competed for the Phoenix Open, scoring 10 birdies and not bogey in the penultimate round, thereby taking the top spot after 54 holes. But on the last day of the tournament, Spieth “lost the fire” when hitting 72 strokes on par71 so he finished T4.

At Pebble Beach this week, Spieth joined the T4 group thanks to 65 sticks on the opening day of February 11, including a 10-hole eagle, par4 with a sand wedge from 113 yards.

Saving another five strokes the next day, he kept the top of the table and led Daniel Berger by one. After Spieth were 22 players with a gap of seven strokes.
