Player Le Quang Liem won three points in the last five games of the Aimchess US online super fast chess tournament on the evening of August 30, ranking only 13th overall.
Quang Liem held the white piece, losing to Cuban-American player Leinier Dominguez in the first game of the third day of the competition. Since then, the number one player in Vietnam is unbeaten in the remaining four games. He beat Shakhriyar Mamedyarov and Liang Awonder, and drew Anish Giri and Vladislav Artemiev.

With three points from the exam date of August 30, Quang Liem finished the qualifying round with six points through 15 games, ranking 13th. The eight players entering the quarterfinals all scored eight or more points, in eighth place was Dominguez.
Players like Anish Giri and Maxime Vachier-Lagrave finished ninth and tenth, respectively, and were eliminated. In which, Giri was unbeaten, won one and drew 14 games, got eight points, but was still below Dominguez in the sub-index.

Aimchess US is the last leg of the prestigious Champions Chess Tour system with a prize fund of 1.6 million USD.
