PGA and LPGA Tour cancel their schedule to China again

According to the original schedule in Asia, the PGA Tour organized the HSBC Champions, while the LPGA Tour deployed the Buick LPGA, both in October in Shanghai. After that, the PGA Tour will visit Korea with the CJ Cup, then Japan with the Zozo Championship for two consecutive weeks. The LPGA Tour will return to Busan with the BMW Ladies Championship, Taipei with Swinging Skirts and Toto Japan Classic from October 23 to the first weekend of November.

Prior to the closure of Buick Shanghai, the LPGA Tour announced the suspension of Swinging Skirts in Taipei for the same reason. This arena still holds the plan for the stages in Korea and Japan and the remaining five tournaments are in the US.

Last year, the PGA and LPGA Tour both canceled the Shanghai leg because of the global pandemic. At that time, the PGA Tour brought the CJ Cup to Las Vegas, and the Zozo Championship was in California. This year, they did not change the venue for the Korean-born event, putting the Japanese national tournament – Narashino Country Club in Chiba prefecture in a state of “later confirmed” when announcing the 2021-2022 calendar earlier this month.
