Opening of VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight

At 6:00 p.m. on November 28, the opening ceremony of the running VNExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2020 began. The program was jointly organized by VnExpress and Hanoi People’s Committee and Tien Phong Commercial Joint Stock Bank (TPBank) with the theme Run to the light. Before the opening time, Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square area was crowded with passersby, athletes waiting for the opening ceremony. Opening the program, Mr. Ngo Manh Cuong, Deputy Organizing Committee, shared that this was the first large-scale night run to introduce the beautiful scenery, people, cuisine and historical sites of Hanoi. In the opening ceremony, the representative of VnExpress e-newspaper also awarded the Hope Fund 330 million VND extracted from the proceeds. The gift was given away with the motto that each step will contribute to the program “Light for the school”.

Bringing a lively atmosphere to the opening night, singer Ali Hoang Duong performed the song “Bay” by musician Nguyen Hai Phong. The audience watching the show danced to the youthful melody of the song. Accordingly, VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight has 4 distances, groups of 5 and 10 km will depart from 0h00; 42 km distance is 0:30 minutes and the last 21 km starts at 1:15 minutes. The award will close the longest distance run of 42 km at 7am and the awards are scheduled to be held at 8am on November 29.

On the morning of November 28, on the pedestrian street, Dinh Tien Hoang Street, VnExpress also organized the Kun Marathon Hanoi 2020 event for children 6-10 years old, attracting hundreds of young runners competing.

From November 27, the athlete received Bib and Race-kit, visiting the booth on the area stretching more than 600 meters around Sword Lake during the event. In addition to VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight, VnExpress Marathon also organizes VnExpress Marathon Hue, which takes place on December 27, to help runners explore the culture of the ancient capital.
