Not at the top of the CME Group Tour Championship

In the opening ceremony on December 17, Ko hit 68 strokes, stood T6 with -4, while Lexi Thompson kept the top of group -7 and Kim Sei Young was on T3 (-5). For the first leg, she scored six birdies, a double bogey and a bogey.

Thompson has won 11 LPGA Tour championships, including major ANA Inspiration 2014 and currently ranked 11th Rolex Rankings.

Lydia Ko got an excellent score from the start of the tournament. Former world number one hit 65 strokes, scored seven birdies and did not bogey to go up T11 (-5). Previously 18 holes, Ko was at +2. All this season, Ko finished four times in the top 10 but failed to win the title in 12 events.
