Losing two games before, but the Milwaukee Bucks won four games in a row to beat the Phoenix Suns 4-2 in the 2021 NBA grand final.
The Milwaukee Bucks won the NBA championship for the first time since 1971, when they had two legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson on the roster. The man who led the Milwaukee Bucks to this year’s championship is another legend: Giannis Antetokounmpo.

The 2m11 tall star played 42 minutes, scored 50 points, had 14 rebounds and five blocks. He appeared in every hot spot on the field, comprehensively defending and almost single-handedly leading the “deer herd” to victory in game six. Before that, Giannis also shone in an important victory at the Phoenix Suns in game five, helping the home team to take a 3-2 lead.
In the 2021 NBA Finals series, Giannis averaged 35 points, 13 rebounds and five assists per game. Besides the championship ring, he also won the Finals MVP for Player of the Series Finals.
The Greek striker has been with the Milwaukee Bucks since 2013, when he was picked in the 13th round of the NBA Draft. From a poor boy living in hiding without identification in Athens, Greece, Giannis came to the US thanks to basketball and became an NBA champion.

While Giannis won the NBA championship at the age of 26, Chris Paul on the Phoenix Suns side continued to miss the appointment with the most prestigious title in basketball. Paul is one of the best dribbling defenders in NBA history, but has waited 16 years without enjoying the glory. The 36-year-old played well in game six, scoring 26 points but not enough to make up for the lackluster performance of his teammates, including young talent Devin Booker – who only had 19 points.
NBA 2021 ended with many regrets from world fans, when the early season heavyweight championship contenders, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Brooklyn Nets, did not reach the finals of the region. The Lakers lost in the first round of a play-off series at the hands of the Phoenix Suns, and the Nets lost to the Milwaukee Bucks in the semifinals. Meanwhile, the former Golden State Warriors champion didn’t even make it to the playoffs.
