Due to not fighting WGC-FedEx St. This week’s Jude Invitational, Jon Rahm will most likely lose world number one (OWGR table) to Dustin Johnson and Collin Morikawa.

Rahm is leading the OWGR. But this position next week depends on the overall performance of the two American colleagues at the World Golf Championship (WGC) event of the PGA Tour in Memphis scheduled to close on August 8.

At that time, Johnson could regain the number one position if he finished at least T2 and Morikawa did not win. And Morikawa, if he wins, will be first in OWGR. And then, he was just behind Tiger Woods in terms of time from starting his career to the top of the golf world. Morikawa, born in 1997, has spent two years and 67 professional days, and Woods has reached the top of OWGR after 290 days. When Woods won his first major – Masters 1997, Morikawa was only two months old.

After 36 holes WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational, Johnson is more open to achieving goals than juniors. He is at T13 (score -6), seven strokes off the top of the table while Morikawa is at T38 (-2).

The event gathered nearly all of the world’s top 50, in which the champion got 74 OWGR points due to the competitive index (SOF) of 727, only 7 points behind the major Masters.

Initially, Rahm committed to attend, but by the beginning of the last week of July, he announced that he would take a break. At that time, he was about to attend Tokyo 2020 and the tournament in Memphis started three days later. But in the end, Rahm was also not allowed to compete in the Olympics because he was positive for nCoV during the last screening before leaving for Japan.

To date, Rahm is accumulating 11 weeks holding the top of OWGR and Johnson has seven times in the position for a total of 135 weeks. Woods holds the record for 683 weeks and Greg Norman is second with 331 weeks.
