AmericaBryson DeChambeau at least four times missed the opportunity to win the championship with Patrick Cantlay at the PGA Tour event with a $9.5 million prize fund in Baltimore.

The tournament closed on August 29 with a trophy and $ 1.71 million in prize money to Cantlay. He and DeChambeau both hold the top of the table with a score of -21 after 54 holes, compared to each other in the final round. At the end of the 16th hole, DeChambeau took a lead thanks to a birdie 3.6 meters away.

But at the par3 17th hole, DeChambeau began to decline. PGA Tour long range boss – 321.7 yards average – added advantage by hitting the rough grass near the green, 7.6 meters from the target, while the opponent hit the creek.

However, DeChambeau was 3.3 meters from the hole after the chip, while Cantlay with a lob wedge on the third shot including the penalty stroke, went 100 yards into the green, 2.4 meters away. Both were bogey – DeChambeau finished two putts, Cantlay just one putt. This hole-punch keeps Cantlay one club ahead.

On hole 18, two American golfers both entered the green after two shots. DeChambeau was 3.6 meters from target, but two putts behind. In contrast, Cantlay is still a putt despite being 6.4 meters away. This birdie helped him drag DeChambeau into the play-off (side hole) for the same -27 after 72 standard holes on par72. The extra game alternates between the last two holes of the course, starting at the 18th hole.

The first three extra holes, DeChambeau missed all three chances to win by birdie, including the putt 1.8 meters away and the rim 5.5 meters away.

On the fourth extra hole, DeChambeau was at a disadvantage because he hit the creek and was penalized one stroke for dropping the ball 150 yards from target. But he still entered the green with a wedge, 1.2 meters from the hole and kept par like Cantlay. They both birdie after that. The competition ended on the sixth extra hole, when Cantlay birdie was 5.5 meters away. This hole, DeChambeau putt closer – 3.6 meters away, but did not enter. In the playoffs, he played 30 yards farther than Cantlay twice, both on the 18th hole. This was also the end of the duel.

DeChambeau finished second, receiving $ 1,026 million. At the end of the final game, he was closed to the media and was the first player not to win the championship despite scoring -27 on par72 in PGA Tour history.
