At the age of 10, Andy Ogletree drew up his future golf career in an essay, and predicted a reality when he was 22.

Ogletree went professional a week ago. This is the first goal in an essay he wrote 12 years ago.

“Growing up, I wanted to be a professional golfer. I wanted it because they made a lot of money. They did a lot of traveling,” Ogletree wrote with a nib in elementary school.

The second target in his essay from the past was superstar Tiger Woods. “I want to fight Tiger because he’s so great. Every year, I go to Atlanta to watch Tiger play the Tour Championship,” Ogletree continued.

Last year, golfers born in 1998 won US Amateur, so they got tickets to Masters 2020 from November 12 to 15. And as usual, the duo defending these two events will join the group for 36 exclusive Augusta National major holes. Thanks to that, Ogletree was accompanied by “Super Tiger” for two days. Ogletree is even more than the idol who owns 15 majors one level, when Masters lower the stage. Ogletree finished T34 with a score of -2, while also winning the “Excellent Amateur Golfer” award, while Woods stood at T38 at -1.

Besides the idol Woods, Ogletree also admired Phil Mickelson and Camilo Villegas and Sergio Garcia. “I like Phil because he’s one of the few backhand golfer at the PGA Tour. I also like Camilo in the green reptile to read his putt. My other favorite player is Sergio. the ball used in the tournament, “Ogletree stated in the conclusion of the writing exercise.

“I’ve had a lot of results during my amateur time, and the Masters is a great way to end that. Now is the time to try my hand at a higher level against the best,” Ogletree said in Professional announcement ceremony on November 19. At that time, he ranked fourth in the world amateur rankings.

This year, Ogletree attended three PGA Tour and major US Open events ahead of Masters of which Augusta National was the best. He plans to play the Mayakoba Classic from December 3 to 6. Ogletree will start as a professional with five sponsors, including golf equipment company Titleist.
